Choc and Coco Slice

Here is a typical slice, what the Hungarians call "sutemeny". I do greatly miss these type of desserts here in the sunshine state, but that craving gives a reason to try to make them. I made this the first time, turned out good and yummy, next time i would substitute the choc topping with perhaps something else.

This recipe has three parts, the coconut filling, the chocolate filling and the chocolate topping. Start with the base - You need to make a sponge. with 6 eggs, 200g sugar, 220g self raising flour, 20g cocoa powder, 6 tablespoon vegetable oil, 4 tablespoon water. Once the mixture is done, spread it out on a baking tray covered with bake paper and bake on 180c for 20min. Let it cool down, and turn it upside down.

The coco filling - Its like Bounty. Heat 200ml of milk with 200g sugar and 125g butter, once combined, add the coco, cook and stir for 3 minutes and pour it on the top of the sponge that you have previously spread some dark smooth (eg. strawberry) jam on it.

The Chocolate filling - Melt 100g of dark chocolate very slowly on low heat over a double boiler (do not add water or any liquid), once melted pull it aside. Over a double boiler combine 3 eggs, 200g sugar, 2 tablespoon cocoa powder, Beat 250g butter with a mixer, once the egg mixture is cooled down add this to the egg mixture, then add the butter. Spread over the coco topping.

The chocolate topping - Over a double boiler on low heat melt 150g dark chocolate. Once melted, pour over the previously chilled chocolate filling and spread it out.

I have decorated it with melted white chocolate piped out from a piping bag.
