Weekday Home Made Hungarian Meal

Nothing fancy, just a tasty everyday meal Hungarian style.

Home made noodle pasta (nokedli), in Germany they call it Spatzle. Around 400g plain flour mixed with 2 whole eggs, pinch of salt, two tablespoon of oil and add water until is thicker than a pancake mix. You need a special "nokedli" pasta maker that sits over boiling water and you gradually push through this "nokedli" and boil it for 3 minutes and drain. In this particular recipe after draining the pasta i have heated up  the "nokedli" pasta over some butter and poured five scrambled eggs over it and pulled it aside, stir and let it sit.

For the meat, i used pork fillet and cut them to slices. I have sprinkled each slice with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then spread some sour cream on each slice both side. Put them in a container and pour some olive oil over it, let it rest overnight but at least 30min. Cook in a pan or a BBQ hotplate. Do not overcook to keep it moist and tender.

For the salad, i used normal lettuce leaves. The dressing is a unique Hungarian dressing, which consist of water, sugar, salt and white vinegar. The right balance of these ingredients gives the dressing its unique taste. Sweet, salty and balanced out with vinegar.

Jo etvagyat! - this is in Hungarian means - Enjoy your meal!
