Italian Panna Cotta
Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert of sweetened cream infused with vanilla, thickened with gelatin and placed into a mold. Great with fresh fruit like raspberry, strawberry or sweet cherry.
750ml pouring cream
1/3 cup of caster (white) sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon gelatin powder
Mix the cream and the sugar with the vanilla extract, and heat and simmer slowly in a saucepan for about 5minutes.
Pour some hot water over the gelatin till dissolves. Add this gelatin liquid to the cream.
Pour the mixture into molds (cups), and refrigerate overnight till sets.
Decorate with fresh fruit and caramelized almond crunch (praline).
